1920’s RARE Assuit Tabard
Absolutely AMAZING 1920's assuit tabard. Sturdy black netting with hammered metal that appears to be gold plated over silver pot metal. Completely open at sides to show your dress underneath, or belt if you want more coverage. Neckline is done in iridescent beading with two tassels hanging freely. Pairs well with a black midi dress and gold drop earrings. I can not confirm this with photos, but was told this was worn years later to Studio 54 by Robert Duvall's date.
Measurements are as follows: (One size fits most)
Bust: 58" (but open on either side. Meant to be oversized.)
Neck opening circumference: 24"
Total length front shoulder to hem: 47.5"
Condition: Very Good - The vintage piece is considered wearable but has some small surface flaws. Mostly some tarnish to metal which makes sections less shiny. Back bottom has a little bit of oxidization (shown in photos.) There is also some minor bead loss happening at collar. I have secured much of the beading in place but there is still a little loss happening. Overall extremely sturdy and can be worn and partied in! Presents magnificently and priced accordingly, as most pieces like this range between $1800-$2200.
